To be fully prepared for the day you should bring suitable clothing for outdoor use, some shoes suitable for walking in mud and ofcoarse, your camera! » more

What is the maximum number of passengers?

You'll need to check this with the operator as this will vary depending on the size of the equipment. Typically, a hot air balloon can safely accomodate anywhere from 2 to 10 passengers at any given time.  » more

What about people who are afraid of heights?

Generally the ride is so soft that you can hardly feel even the slightest breeze. » more

Is there any weight restriction?

It is possible that there may be a weight restriction. You should check this with your operator when booking a flight. » more

Is it cold in the air?

Nope, It's not colder than the air on the ground. Because the balloon moves with the wind, there is no breeze. » more

How long does the journey take?

Generally anywhere between 3 and 4.5 hours. » more

How long does inflating the balloon take?

Usually this will take around 30-45 minutes after arriving at the launch site. This is a good opportunity to sit back and take some photos or get involved with the crew. » more

How is the balloon inflated?

The basket is placed on its side and then the balloon's 'envelope' is attached and layed out by wires attached the the basked.  » more

How high does the ballon go?

Generally a flight will go from just above the tree line to 3000 feet or more. » more

How far does the balloon travel?

Depending on the strength of the wind on the day, the balloon will probably travel between 5-25kms. You will be be retrieved by a vechicle and taking back to the pick up point. » more

Are there any toliets onboard?

No! You should ensure that you go to the toilet before boarding! » more

Are there any sandbags?

No, sandbags are not required to weigh the balloon down. To go higher the temperature inside the balloon is increased and to go down we just let it cool or let some of the hot air out. » more

Are there any risks to pregnant women?

Generally most tour operators will not allow pregnant persons in a hot air balloon. » more

Are there any health restrictions that apply?

If you have any medical conditions you should make a point of checking witht he operator to see if any health restrictions apply, especially if you have any any leg (including knee), hip or back issues. » more

Are children allowed to fly?

You should always check with the operator to see if children are allowed to fly. Often children 5 years and up can paticipate, however sometimes the minimum age could be 12 years of age. » more
